The Grand River Valley Choir and Orchestra (GRVCO) will present its annual Winter Concert, titled “Once Upon a December,” on December 13, 2023. The performance is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Trenton R-IX Performing Arts Center in Trenton, Missouri. This event showcases talent from twelve different communities across the state, highlighting the rich musical heritage of the region.

Community Engagement and Musical Lineup

Music enthusiasts can look forward to a diverse program featuring both classic holiday favorites and contemporary pieces. The concert will include well-known carols such as “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” performed by the orchestra, alongside newer arrangements like “Festival of Christmas,” presented by the choir. The orchestra is conducted by Raymond Linville, a graduate of Trenton High School, while the choir is led by Linda Arnold.

The performance is free to the public, made possible by the support of the Donors Club and several anonymous benefactors. This initiative underscores the community’s commitment to promoting the arts and making cultural experiences accessible to all.

Post-Concert Activities and Special Collections

After the concert, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the musicians in the Trenton High School Commons. This informal gathering allows concert-goers to engage with the performers and learn more about their musical journeys.

In addition to the entertainment, the event will feature special collections benefitting the Wright Memorial Hospital Foundation. Information regarding the Donors Club and how to support the arts will be available at the venue.
