Bulat Utemuratov Foundation’s Autism Program Wins AmCham Award
The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation’s “Autism: One World for All” program received the prestigious Healthcare Award at the annual American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan (AmCham) Awards. The award, presented on November 21, 2025, in Astana, acknowledges the program’s significant contribution to autism support and inclusion in Kazakhstan.
This recognition highlights the Foundation’s commitment to improving early diagnosis, training specialists, and fostering inclusive practices for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Launched in 2015, the program operates 13 Asyl Miras autism centers across 12 cities in Kazakhstan, providing free services that integrate the expertise of psychologists, speech therapists, and behavioral analysts.
Using internationally recognized evidence-based methods, including ABA therapy, JASPER, the Early Childhood Intervention Model, and MCRR crisis management, the program has supported over 17,000 children and their families in the past decade. Furthermore, it has trained more than 300 specialists to deliver effective interventions tailored to individual needs.
Advancing Awareness and Inclusion
In addition to direct support, the “Autism: One World for All” program has made significant strides in raising public awareness about autism and cultivating a culture of inclusion throughout Kazakhstan. Initiatives such as the Autism Friendly project have trained staff at airports in Almaty and Kyzylorda, as well as employees of Air Astana, to create more accessible environments for individuals with ASD.
Almaz Sharman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “For us, this award is recognition that the topic of inclusion is becoming increasingly important to society. Our goal was to help children with ASD realize their potential and become part of a world that accepts and supports them. Today, we see real changes: thousands of families have found support, and society is becoming more open and understanding. This inspires us to move forward.”
This marks the second consecutive year the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation has received recognition from AmCham. In 2024, it won the Community Service category for its extensive charitable initiatives and contributions to social development in Kazakhstan.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan represents leading international and domestic companies across key economic sectors. It plays a vital role in promoting a competitive, transparent, and investment-friendly business environment through advocacy, policy dialogue, and collaboration with the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation’s achievements not only reflect its dedication to enhancing the lives of those affected by autism but also underscore the growing importance of inclusion in society.
