Brandee Evans Unaware of Kordell Beckham’s Reality Fame

Brandee Evans, star of the Hulu series Reasonable Doubt, recently revealed that she was unaware she was filming alongside reality television personality Kordell Beckham, known for his appearance on Love Island USA. During an episode that aired on October 16, 2023, Evans’ character, Monica, shared scenes with Beckham’s character, creating a surprising moment for the actress.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Evans expressed her surprise at Beckham’s presence on set. “I’ve never seen Love Island. I didn’t know who Kordell was,” she stated. Evans acknowledged Beckham’s kindness during their interactions, prompting her to consider watching the reality show. “I just knew he was so kind and then I just know who I met on that set,” she added.

Evans recalled a light-hearted moment during filming when Beckham, who is relatively new to acting, inadvertently brought balloons into a scene. “If you go back and watch, he puts the balloons down because he’s new to acting. We all do it. I’ve done it too,” she explained. The actress found humor in the situation, saying, “I just acted with it. I was like, ‘It’s hilarious.’ The director loved it too.”

She noted the camaraderie on set, describing it as a friendly environment where cast members could joke with one another. “Kordell, not you putting the balloons in my face,” she joked after the scene was cut, showcasing the supportive atmosphere among the cast.

Evans praised Beckham’s performance, remarking, “If that’s the only thing that could tell that he was new to acting, that’s it.” She emphasized his ability to take direction well and his enjoyable presence on set, expressing excitement for his future in the industry. “I hope his career does amazing after this,” Evans added.

Exciting Developments for Reasonable Doubt

The third season of Reasonable Doubt, which first premiered in 2022, will feature new storylines involving Evans’ character, Monica. “I’m very excited for everyone to see what happens,” Evans said, hinting at significant developments ahead. “The best work to me is yet to come for Monica,” she teased, underlining her anticipation for viewers to witness her character’s evolution.

In addition to her role in Reasonable Doubt, Evans will reprise her character, Mercedes, in the upcoming third season of P-Valley. She described this new season as “life-changing” for her character, emphasizing the importance of authentic storytelling in both series. “P-Valley tells authentic stories, Reasonable Doubt tells authentic stories and I am [always looking for more] authentic stories,” she remarked.

Evans also expressed her desire to explore different genres, saying, “I do want to do some comedy and a rom-com.” She aims to showcase her versatility as an actress, stating, “People are so used to seeing me do these heavy roles but I want you all to see fun Brandee.”
