Oneida County Health Department Moves Offices to Enhance Services
The Oneida County Health Department has officially relocated its offices from the Adirondack Bank Building at 185 Genesee St. to the Oneida County Office Building at 800 Park Ave., both located in Utica. This strategic move aims to centralize services, improve internal operations, and enhance accessibility for residents and partners seeking public health resources.
Anthony J. Picente Jr., Oneida County Executive, stated, “Centralizing these Health Department offices at the County Office Building will allow us to better coordinate services, strengthen internal operations and make it easier for residents and partners to access the resources they need.” This relocation is also designed to save taxpayer dollars by consolidating space and reducing operational expenses.
While the address has changed, the department’s commitment to providing efficient, reliable, and high-quality public health services remains unchanged. The newly relocated offices will include Administration, Special Children Services, Health Promotion, and Environmental Health.
Impact on Services and Contact Information
The phone numbers for each office will remain the same, ensuring continuity in communication. Although there are no changes to service delivery for Administration, Special Children Services, or Health Promotion, the Environmental Health Department will see adjustments in its in-person service procedures.
Operators of permitted facilities, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, pools, campgrounds, and mobile home parks, are now required to mail or deliver permit applications and payments to the new Oneida County Office Building location. Rabies and animal specimens should also be submitted to the County Office Building, but individuals must arrange these deliveries in advance by contacting (315) 798-5064. Discussions regarding testing should be directed to this same number.
Clinic services provided by the Oneida County Health Department will continue without change. Clinic hours are maintained at 406 Elizabeth St. in Utica, operating Monday through Friday. Additional clinic hours are available in Rome on specific dates. For the latest information regarding clinic services, residents are encouraged to visit oneidacountyny.gov/vaccines.
For further inquiries about these changes, individuals can reach out via phone at (315) 798-5064 or email at [email protected]. More details about the Oneida County Health Department and its services can be found at oneidacountyny.gov/health.
