UPDATE: The Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team suffered a disappointing defeat against Texas A&M, losing 59-46 in the final game of the North Shore Showcase on November 25, 2025, at the George Q. Cannon Activities Center in Laie, Hawaii. The Buffs’ offense sputtered, marking a significant drop from their recent performance.

This loss halts CU’s four-game winning streak and raises urgent questions about their offensive strategy. Colorado shot just 34% from the field, converting only 18-of-53 attempts, and struggled immensely from beyond the arc, hitting only 21.1% of their three-point shots (4-of-19). The team also committed a staggering 24 turnovers, far exceeding their season average of 14.0.

Leading the Buffs was Zyanna Walker, who scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds, but the support from her teammates was lacking. The rest of the squad managed only 12-of-39 shooting, translating to a mere 30.8%.

The game began with a rough start for CU, who fell behind 10-1 within the first five minutes. However, a rally led by Walker allowed the Buffs to forge ahead with a 23-19 lead at halftime after an impressive buzzer-beater tip-in. Despite a strong beginning to the second half, the team struggled to maintain momentum, ultimately succumbing to a decisive 32-12 scoring margin in the final 16 minutes.

“We just couldn’t execute down the stretch,” said Buffs head coach. “Our turnovers really cost us, and we need to regroup before our next game,”

On the other side, Texas A&M’s Ny’Ceara Pryor dominated the court with a game-high 23 points, alongside six assists and seven steals. Fatmata Janneh also excelled, securing 15 rebounds and 8 points, showcasing a formidable presence on both ends of the court.

Next up, the Buffs will host Montana State at the CU Events Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. (ESPN+). Fans are eagerly awaiting how the team will respond to this setback as they look to bounce back and regain their winning form.

With this loss, Colorado (5-2) faces critical adjustments ahead as they prepare for upcoming challenges in their schedule. The performance against Texas A&M serves as a wake-up call for the team as they aim to tighten their gameplay.
