Polish American Heritage Association Offers $2,500 Scholarship
The Polish American Heritage Association of Berks County is set to award a $2,500 scholarship to a high school senior from Berks County who demonstrates a strong connection to Polish heritage. This scholarship, designated for the Polonia project, requires applicants to submit a project focused on aspects of Polish history, culture, or traditions.
Projects must be submitted to the Polish American Cultural Center by March 15, 2024. Interested students can obtain application forms from high school guidance offices throughout Berks County, by contacting Chris Curtis at 484-256-9603, or in person at the Polish American Cultural Center, located in Room 509, GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington Street, Reading. The center is accessible to the public on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
For convenience, applications can also be downloaded from the association’s website at www.berkspaha.org. This initiative not only supports academic achievement but also encourages a deeper appreciation of Polish heritage among the youth of Berks County.
The scholarship aims to foster cultural awareness and understanding, allowing students to explore their roots while contributing to the community’s rich tapestry of traditions. By engaging in projects that highlight Polish history and culture, applicants will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity and research skills.
This program exemplifies the commitment of the Polish American Heritage Association to preserve and promote the cultural identity of Polish Americans in the region. The association encourages all eligible students to participate and take advantage of this valuable educational opportunity.
