URGENT UPDATE: The Wintrust Magnificent Mile Lights Festival and Parade has officially returned to Chicago for its 34th year, bringing festive cheer just in time for the holiday season. The highly anticipated event lights up North Michigan Avenue this weekend, featuring beloved characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse from Walt Disney World Resort.

The parade, set to commence at 5:30 PM on November 23, is expected to attract up to 1 million attendees, making it the largest evening parade in the United States and the third largest in the country. Attendees can look forward to a spectacular showcase of floats, giant helium balloons, marching bands, and star-studded performances.

Earlier today, Chicago’s own Plain White T’s performed a free concert at 1 PM before joining the parade festivities. The lineup includes DJ White Shadow, a GRAMMY-winning producer debuting a Chicago-themed float, and the iconic Club Nouveau performing their hit “Lean on Me.”

The festival marks the official start of the holiday season in Chicago and beyond, with over one million lights illuminating more than 200 trees along North Michigan Avenue. Organizers have invited attendees to don their favorite holiday sweaters in an effort to break the record for the most worn at a parade.

Lights Festival Lane will be open from 11 AM to 4 PM at Pioneer Court, 401 N. Michigan Ave, before the parade kicks off. A dazzling fireworks display will cap off the celebrations along North Michigan Avenue and the Chicago River.

This year’s festival promises to create lasting memories for families and friends as they gather to witness this beloved Chicago tradition. For real-time updates and more information, visit TheMagnificentMile.com.
