UPDATE: Arlington Police have arrested 25-year-old Arthur Morris Jr. in connection with the 2021 murder of Kier Solomon, a transgender woman. This urgent development comes after a lengthy four-year investigation that revealed crucial evidence tying Morris to the crime.

On September 30, 2021, Solomon was found shot in her car at a North Arlington apartment complex. Despite immediate medical attention, she tragically succumbed to her injuries. The swift response of first responders was unable to save her life, marking a heartbreaking loss for the community.

Detectives utilized Solomon’s phone records during the investigation, uncovering that she had been lured to the location under false pretenses. The records indicated she was misled into meeting someone from a dating app—a pattern that would later link directly to Morris. Another victim had previously reported a similar incident involving robbery and gunfire just weeks before Solomon’s murder, raising alarm over Morris’s behavior.

By September 2025, police had gathered enough evidence to charge Morris with one count of murder. They established that Morris was present at the crime scene “before, during, and after the murder,” according to the Arlington Police Department. The investigation highlighted the relentless dedication of the detectives involved.

Chief of Police Al Jones praised the investigative team, stating,

“This investigation truly highlights the persistence and dedication of our detectives. Sometimes we get that big break in a case right away and other times we don’t. What never changes, though, is our commitment to delivering justice for victims of crime.”

He emphasized the importance of exhausting every lead to achieve justice, showcasing the department’s commitment to the community.

Currently, Morris is held at a facility in Childress, Texas, under the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for an unrelated crime. He is awaiting transfer to Tarrant County for his arraignment.

As the wheels of justice slowly turn, the Arlington community reflects on the devastating impact of Solomon’s loss. This case serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by marginalized communities and the urgent need for justice.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as authorities continue to pursue justice for Kier Solomon and her loved ones.
