UPDATE: A 28-year-old man from Memphis, Cameron Wilhite, has been charged with reckless murder following a fatal DUI crash in Montgomery, Alabama, that left 54-year-old Frederick Bernard Hill dead. The incident occurred at approximately 8:07 p.m. on October 18, 2023, at the intersection of East Fairview Avenue and Norman Bridge Road.

According to official reports, Wilhite was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee when he collided with a Ford Escape before striking Hill’s Ford Explorer. Eyewitness accounts and police findings indicate that Wilhite was in an “obviously impaired state” at the time of the crash.

Authorities confirmed that open containers were discovered in Wilhite’s vehicle, corroborating the evidence of his impairment. A blood test taken 90 minutes after the crash revealed a blood alcohol content of .15, nearly twice the legal limit.
