San Marcos Christmas Lighting Ceremony Set for December 3
URGENT UPDATE: The annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony at the Hays County Courthouse is just around the corner, set for December 3, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This beloved event promises to illuminate the historic courthouse and uplift the spirits of the San Marcos community as the festive season kicks off.
Led by Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra, the ceremony will feature an exciting evening filled with music, dazzling lights, and a special visit from Santa Claus himself. The celebration begins promptly at 6:15 PM with a performance by the San Marcos High School Orchestra, setting the tone for a night of holiday cheer. The highly anticipated countdown to the courthouse lighting, along with Santa’s arrival, will take place at 6:40 PM.
“This event is a cherished tradition that brings our community together,” Judge Becerra stated. “We look forward to celebrating the season with music, lights, and holiday cheer for families of all ages.”
The festivities will continue with additional performances, starting with San Marcos Mariachi at 7:00 PM and the Lehman High School Choir at 7:30 PM. The evening will conclude with the Lehman High School Mariachi taking the stage at 8:00 PM, rounding off a night of community celebration.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their cameras, as there will be opportunities for photos with Santa throughout the event. Best of all, the ceremony is free and open to the public, with a large turnout expected at the courthouse located at 111 E. San Antonio St..
