BREAKING: Inglewood’s star player, Jason Crowe Jr., has just delivered a stunning performance, scoring 50 points in a decisive 95-80 victory over Cypress on Monday at the Ryse Williams Pac Shores opener. This remarkable achievement brings him closer to breaking the state record for all-time scoring.

With 3,539 points to date, Crowe is now just 121 points shy of surpassing Tounde Yessoufou’s record of 3,659 points. Crowe expressed a calm focus on his game, stating, “I try not to think about that… if it happens, it happens.” However, at his current scoring pace, he could reach the milestone as soon as next week.

Crowe’s next challenge is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Washington Prep, followed by a game on Saturday in Missouri against Principia at the Norm Stewart Classic. Inglewood’s fans will want to mark December 9 on their calendars when the Sentinels return home for their Ocean League opener against Beverly Hills.

Crowe’s scoring prowess has been on full display this season, averaging an impressive 41.6 points per game. His performance against Cypress included a remarkable 20 of 21 from the free-throw line, despite shooting 13 of 31 from the field.

The Sentinels faced early adversity, trailing 23-10 in the first quarter. However, a game-changing 26-0 run propelled them into the lead. Crowe reflected on the turnaround, saying, “We started off a little slow… once we got the lead, we didn’t look back.”

Late in the game, Crowe appeared to injure his ankle but quickly returned to the court, hitting a crucial three-pointer to seal the victory. Fellow teammate David Conerly contributed significantly with 24 points.

In other news from the Pac Shores event, Leuzinger triumphed over Chino with a score of 81-71, led by Dylan Curry with 28 points. Meanwhile, Bishop Montgomery remains undefeated, improving to 6-0 after a hard-fought 55-48 win over San Gabriel Academy.

The Pac Shores event continues through Thursday, with the Take Flight Challenge also taking place on Friday and Saturday at Redondo Union. Stay tuned for more updates on Crowe’s journey to the record books and ongoing tournament results.
